NEW YORK

New York is a children’s room interior design project created for a four-year-old boy who chose New York as the inspiration for his room. The design reflects his active and curious personality, combining play, functionality and comfort in one dynamic space.

The room was planned around the way a young child learns, plays and rests. A two-level bed creates separate zones within the room, with a cosy yellow reading chair on the lower level and a sports wall — a dream feature for an active child.

Opposite the bed, modular open shelving cubes create a playful interpretation of New York’s skyscrapers while providing accessible storage for books and toys. An ultra-blue metal chest of drawers adds a strong colour accent and provides additional toy storage.

The interior is built around a warm grey base, complemented by soft pink details and ultramarine diagonal colour blocks. These graphic elements introduce rhythm and energy, while cork cabinet fronts and a wicker rocking chair add natural textures and warmth.

The design balances bold visual elements with practical solutions, creating clearly defined areas for sleeping, reading, playing and storing toys without making the room feel overloaded.

The result is a bright, multifunctional and dynamic children’s bedroom designed around the child’s personality and interests — a space that encourages play, imagination and creativity while remaining comfortable and practical for everyday life.
