The interior design began with a cohesive colour palette built around deep purple and a soft mist tone. Each room then developed its own identity.
In Room 1, designed for the older sister, mustard became the main accent colour. In Room 2, for the younger sister, mustard was combined with sky blue and pink, creating a softer and more playful atmosphere.
The colour palette was complemented by natural wood, soft textiles, matte finishes and rounded forms. Together, these elements add warmth, comfort and a sense of softness while keeping the rooms visually balanced.
The project also involved working with the architecture and proportions of the rooms. The original ceilings were low and the proportions felt uncomfortable. Raising the ceiling by just 10 cm made a noticeable difference, visually increasing the height of the rooms and improving the overall sense of space.
In Room 2, the existing built-in cabinets were incorporated more discreetly into a niche, allowing the layout to be visually simplified and easily transformed. A hand-painted mural on the central wall draws attention away from the irregular geometry while creating a magical focal point.
A spacious chest of drawers provides storage for books and helps define a dedicated reading area. Above the bed, a lightweight canopy adds softness, creates a sense of intimacy and introduces a touch of mystery to the room.
The result is two children's rooms designed not only around their individual personalities, but also around comfort, functionality and the way children actually use their space — with room to read, play, rest and grow.
