We created two children’s rooms for girls of different ages, based on a shared concept: “Pancakes with Blueberries.” The older sister chose this idea, and the younger sister, despite a six-year age difference, wanted the same theme.
To start the design, a cohesive color palette was developed: deep purple combined with soft mist tones. In room #1 (older sister), mustard was used as an accent, while in room #2 (younger sister), accents of mustard, sky blue, and pink were added. Textures, wood, soft textiles, matte surfaces, and rounded shapes complemented the palette, creating cozy and playful spaces.
Architectural improvements were also made. Originally, the rooms had low ceilings and awkward proportions. Raising the ceiling by just 10 cm significantly improved comfort and spatial perception.
In room #1, wall-mounted wardrobes were designed not only for storage but also as decorative elements. A soft headboard shaped like pancakes adds a touch of tenderness and complements the work chair and bedside table. A built-in library was integrated into the wardrobe for the older sister, who loves reading, while a larger library with a desk was placed on the opposite wall.
Designing children’s rooms is always both exciting and responsible, as surroundings strongly influence children’s development and perception of the world. At HOME ZONE, we focus on listening to our young clients and understanding their inner world, creating spaces that are not only beautiful but also nurturing and functional, rather than following trends.
