A 56 sqm apartment in Bucharest

La Dolce Vita is a 56 sqm apartment interior design project in Bucharest, created for a rental property. The goal was to combine functionality, comfort and character in a compact space, while staying within the client's budget and timeline.

The concept began with an image: a small convertible travelling along Italian roads between the mountains and the sea. Warm air, sunlight, favourite music, and the feeling of having nowhere to rush. This sense of freedom became the inspiration for the entire interior design.

The apartment was carefully planned to make the most of its 56 sqm. Each area has a clear function, while the overall layout remains open, light and comfortable. More than six metres of storage were integrated throughout the apartment, providing generous storage capacity without making the space feel visually heavy.

The living and dining area was designed as an open, comfortable space for relaxing and socialising. The layout creates a natural flow between the different functions while maintaining a sense of visual continuity.

The narrow kitchen was reconfigured to become fully functional and efficient. It includes all the necessary appliances and a small bar that connects the kitchen with the living area, adding both practicality and a relaxed atmosphere.

In the bedroom, wardrobes with fluted glass doors filter the light and create visual depth, helping the room feel lighter and more spacious. A fully integrated home office and bookshelf provide a practical workspace without taking away from the calm character of the bedroom.

The colour palette combines white, soft blue and mustard accents. Mirrors, fluted glass, marble, leather, wool and warm wood introduce different textures and create depth, warmth and understated elegance.

Every element was selected to balance aesthetics and functionality — from the space planning and storage solutions to the materials, furniture and lighting. The result is an apartment that feels personal and welcoming while remaining practical and easy to maintain as a rental property.
